Adobe announced the upcoming release of Flash Media Server 3 at IBC in Amsterdam.
The next version will offer significant performance gains as well as a new enhanced (and encrypted) RTMP protocol to support new content protection features. Pricing has not been made available at this stage.
Other announced features include:
- SWF verification to prevent leeching
- H.264 support
- Improved live streaming
- Mobile video streaming to Flash Lite 3
- Stream republishing from server to server (stream push)
- New C++ based plugin architecture
